iPhone 18 Delay Looks More Likely After Supplier Comments

iPhone 18 delay rumors now have a stronger supply-chain signal behind them. MacRumors reports that comments from Largan Precision chairman Lin En-ping appear to support earlier claims that Apple’s standard iPhone 18 will not arrive with the Pro models this fall.

Largan is important because it is Apple’s primary supplier of iPhone camera lenses. Lin did not name Apple or the iPhone directly, but he told shareholders that a major U.S. customer had postponed a new model to the first quarter of 2027. He also said component procurement would shift later into the year, improving expected factory utilization in the fourth quarter.

iPhone 18 delay changes Apple’s launch rhythm

The iPhone 18 delay would mark a major change from Apple’s usual September strategy. Since the iPhone 4S in 2011, Apple has generally launched its flagship iPhone lineup together in the fall. The new plan reportedly splits the lineup into two windows.

Under that schedule, the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and Apple’s first foldable iPhone would still debut in September 2026. The standard iPhone 18 would follow in early 2027 alongside the iPhone 18e and iPhone Air 2.

That split could help Apple manage a larger six-device lineup instead of releasing everything at once. It may also keep iPhone sales momentum alive across two quarters, which matters as Apple adds more expensive foldable and premium models to the top end of the range.

The standard iPhone 18 is not expected to bring major design changes. Reports point to a 6.3-inch display for the iPhone 18 and a 6.1-inch screen for the iPhone 18e. For now, the supplier comments should be treated as indirect evidence, but they align closely with the broader delay reports.
