New Apple TV and HomePod Mini Could Launch This Fall

Apple TV and HomePod rumors are heating up again, with new reports suggesting that Apple’s next Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini models are nearly ready for launch. According to MacRumors, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says both devices have reportedly been ready for months and are already being used internally at Apple’s Cupertino headquarters.

The main reason for the delay appears to be software rather than hardware. Apple is said to be waiting for its more personalized Siri experience, which is expected to arrive with iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27. Those updates should be previewed at WWDC 2026 and released widely in the fall, which makes a September launch window plausible for the new devices.

Why Apple TV and HomePod upgrades matter

The Apple TV and HomePod refresh could be important because both product lines have gone a long time without major hardware updates. The current Apple TV 4K arrived in 2022, while the HomePod mini dates back to 2020. Even if Apple does not radically redesign either product, newer chips could make them better prepared for Apple Intelligence and future smart home features.

For Apple TV, previous rumors have pointed to an A17 Pro-class chip, plus Apple’s N1 wireless chip for Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread. Gurman also says the Siri Remote may receive some kind of refresh, though details remain unclear.

For HomePod mini, the expected upgrade path includes an S9 chip or newer, improved sound, a newer Ultra Wideband chip, and possibly new color options. Apple is also rumored to be preparing a broader smart home push, including a full-sized HomePod update and a new home hub.

If the Apple TV and HomePod launch lands this fall, it could be Apple’s clearest signal yet that Siri and Apple Intelligence are becoming central to its home strategy.
