Apple AI settlement eligibility is now clearer for iPhone owners who bought recent models during Apple’s first Apple Intelligence marketing push. CNET reports that Apple agreed to a $250 million settlement tied to claims that some advertised AI and Siri features were delayed or missing when new iPhones shipped.
The case centers on the advanced Siri features Apple promoted around WWDC 2024 and the iPhone 16 launch. The settlement does not mean Apple admitted wrongdoing, but eligible buyers are expected to receive a payment if the claim process applies to their device.

The eligible purchase window is specific: devices must have been bought in the United States between June 10, 2024, and March 29, 2025. The covered models are:

- iPhone 16 Pro

- iPhone 15 Pro Max
CNET notes that the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are included because they had the processor and memory needed for Apple Intelligence features. In practice, that means the eligible list is not every iPhone 15 model, but the Pro devices plus the full iPhone 16 family.
The expected payout range is also important. Eligible customers are expected to receive between $25 and $95 per device, depending on claim volume and other settlement factors. CNET cites roughly 36 million eligible customers, so the final payment could vary once claims are processed.
For buyers, the practical step is to check the exact device model, U.S. purchase location, and purchase date. A future claim process may require device or account verification, so serial numbers and purchase records could matter when official instructions arrive.
