Galaxy S27 Ultra could finally address one of the longest-running complaints about Samsung’s Ultra phones. According to Tom’s Guide, new leaks point to a larger battery and several major hardware upgrades for Samsung’s next flagship.
The most eye-catching claim is battery capacity. Samsung has kept its Ultra phones around 5,000mAh for years, but the latest leak suggests the next model could move beyond 6,000mAh. If accurate, that would be a meaningful change for users who care about endurance, gaming, video capture, and travel.
The rumored spec list also includes a newer 2nm Snapdragon chip, LPDDR6 memory, an upgraded OLED panel, Qi2 charging, and a camera setup led by a 200MP main sensor. A 50MP ultrawide and 50MP periscope telephoto camera are also mentioned in the leak.
Galaxy S27 Ultra battery and cooling rumors
Battery capacity may not be the only thermal-related upgrade. Tom’s Guide also points to reporting from Korea suggesting Samsung is exploring advanced cooling options, including liquid cooling ideas for future Galaxy devices.

That would make sense if Samsung wants to push more AI processing, higher sustained gaming performance, and better camera workloads. More power is useful only if the phone can manage heat without throttling too quickly.
As always, early Samsung leaks should be treated carefully. Specifications can change before launch, and Samsung has not confirmed any details. Still, the rumored upgrades line up with areas where users have wanted more movement from the Ultra series.
If Samsung delivers a bigger battery, better memory, stronger cooling, and a more efficient chipset in one generation, the next Ultra could feel like a more substantial upgrade than recent models. It would also give Samsung a stronger answer to Chinese flagships that have been pushing larger batteries and faster charging more aggressively.
